Decision guide

Produce a board deck or prepare a spoken presentation?

A board update may need a clear, accessible slide deck with notes and handouts. A community presentation may need audience framing, a speakable script, timing, and practice with questions. AI can help draft either, but it cannot supply personal experience or verify your program facts. Decide whether the learner’s main deliverable is a file or a live conversation.

How to choose

For slides, inspect production steps

Look for instruction that turns a chatbot draft into a PowerPoint file, supports image prompts, and prepares notes or handouts. Check whether it covers your team’s slide software and template, and plan a pass for source facts, accessible reading order, and alt text before sharing with board members.

For speaking, practice the audience journey

Choose training that develops an audience brief, script structure, timing, rehearsal, and question planning. A polished deck does not mean the speaker can answer community questions. Make space for the presenter to add approved local examples and lived or professional experience they can personally stand behind.

Verify what the AI cannot judge

Review claims and images against approved materials. Rehearse aloud with a colleague who can assess tone, clarity, and whether the spoken version fits the audience. Do not treat generated speaker notes as proof that delivery is accurate, accessible, or responsive to participant needs.

Fictional nonprofit example

Fictional scenario: a community health nonprofit needs a quarterly board update and a separate public presentation about a mobile clinic. The board lead checks the deck’s numbers and reading order, while the spokesperson rehearses a short script and prepares answers about service limits.

Before you enroll

Choose slide-production training for a board-ready file and speaking practice for audience-facing delivery. Review claims and accessibility in either format.
